Describe your experience with Dollar Rent A Car: – I had reserved (online) a full size one way rental from LAX to SAC. I needed the space of a full size for a family of 4. The sales person pushed and pushed for an upgrade to an SUV I could not really afford. He told me that the SUV\’s are flex fuel and that the car I originally rented would only get 17-24 mpg and the flex fuel SUV would get 27-34 mpg and I should calculate that back into my expenditures. We did the math together and I reluctantly agreed. After the trip was complete I realized I had spent a bunch of money on fuel and I looked up the SUV on Edmunds.com. In fact it is not flex fuel and it gets the same or worse mpg than the car I originally rented.

Describe your attempts, if any, to resolve your conflict with Dollar: – Can\’t get a working phone number for LAX Dollar, so I sent emails online to cust svc. I spelled out all of the details of the fraudulent approach to the upgrade. i was told I would get a response in 5-8 bus ness days. After 9 days I wrote back looking for a response. I finally recv\’d a voice mail the next day saying I was denied since I signed the contract. I called her back and re-explained what happened and that I wanted my 120 back and I wanted them to stop lying to customers to sell upgrades. She remineded me that the drop off office office had offered me a 10% discount coupon on a future rental. She added that she thought that was a great deal. She said she would not refund money since my story is hearsay. I asked how they could justify lying to customers to sell upgrades. She said – you said they lied, not me, I wasn\’t there. She was adamant that I would not recieve a dime. She said a supervisor would call me back. She was very rude.
