On September 10,2012 my daughter and I rented a car from Dollar Rent a Car at the San Francisco airport. She was asked about additional insurance which she declined since her car insurance agent here in Wisconsin told her she would be covered with the rent a car. Also, her credit card provides additional insurance as well. When asked for a credit card I stated that the car rental was already paid in full why did they need a credit card. We were told that a card was needed in case there was any damage to the car upon return. She provided her card as requested. When she received her credit card statement, there were charges on her account for additional insurance that Dollar rent a car insists that she requested. I have complained to Dollar rent a car without any satisfaction. In fact their employees were down right rude to me. I was supposed to receive validation of their claim via email and never received anything substantiating their claim. This is an outrage and should not be allowed to go on. I told them I would never rent a car from them again, and relay the experience to everyone I know, they didn’t seem to care.
