I reserved the car online and was told I would be paying $251 and some change. When I arrived at the location the lady told me I NEEDED to purchase the Loss Damage Waiver or else she could not release the car to me. This brought my total to $575 and I later realized that the LDW was optional so I wrote an email, called and complained, went to the location. It took many hours to get anything figured out!

I emailed them, called the location number on my rental agreement. They told me to go to the Dollar Rent a Car location closest to me and they could remove the charges. I went to the location and they told me they couldn’t remove the entire charge only from the day I went in until the day I return the car. They said they couldn’t refund the entire amount because I didn’t call to cancel within 24 hours, but I was not told when I rented the car that I could cancel the LDW and also was told it was mandatory in order to get the car!
