1) Orlando FL in December 2013 – I was forced to pay an additional $300 for insurance on the car when I got to the airport and was told its a requirement in the State of Florida to carry it through the renter. I had no option but to agree as their store site is OFF the airport and the shuttle wouldnt take me back. 2) San Francisco – March 2014. Forced to get insurance (only $90.00) and then got a ticket for crossing a red light. They did not let me know nor let me cover my own citation but they sent me a bill for $500 for an admin fee. Asked why the citation wasnt presented to me beforehand or told about when it occurred but a notice was sent in MAY they said that was the policy.
