I rented a compact economy car from Thrifty Car Rental at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport. Agents are clearly trained to be deceptive and to lie to consumers. Beware the additional insurance coverage up sale! They will tell you that you only have two options for insurance- 1. Premium coverage, or 2. “Basic” coverage. DO NOT accept either! Your current auto insurance carrier most likely covers rental cars (check with your agent or read your policy before renting a car). You do not need to pay Car rental Companies (like Thrifty) for insurance coverage! You have other (more affordable) options. I was deceptively conned into paying a premium to rent a compact economy car. I was quoted $23 per day and when all fees, taxes, insurance, etc. was added in, It ended up costing me more like $85 per day! This is not the first time I have rented a car either. Also, NEVER let the car rental company be responsible for the fuel refill! They will gouge you there too!
