This happened to me with Thrity Car Rental, which I believe is affiliated with Dollar, at Denver Intrnl Airport on 6/23/12. I cleary told the counter clerk I did not want the insurance and was told to do this and that on the screens. I trusted the screens reflected my answers to the clerk. WRONG!!!! When I return to Denver from a 9 day trip I looked at my reciept to see how many miles I had driven and noticed my bill was much higher than it should be. After examining my bill I saw they had charged me $26.99 x9 days=$242.91 for insurance I declined. I tryed to call them about this and was on hold til my cell phone died.I assumed they would straighten it out the next day when I returned the car, WRONGGGG!!! The counter clerk showed me I had accepted the coverage on the screens and there was nothing he could do about it since I had the vehicle the entire time and was covered if I had had an accident. MAN, I SURE FELT LIKE A SUCKER !!!!!!!!!!!! I will try to contact someone from Thrifty to see if they can refund the money or credit it toward my next rental with them. If they don’t I will never use them or affiliated companies again and shout my story from the roof tops to warn my fellow man of this injustice!!!
