Dollar Rental Record: First of all, I rent cars all the time – once or twice a month for 30 years, so I am familiar with the drill. I travel to Houston and rent a car once a month. I NEVER buy insurance. I verbally declined all insurance, pre paid gas, etc. at counter of IAH on 1/28/13. I did inform the agent that I wanted the electronic toll option. I have 2 complaints: 1) I was charged $23.99/day for insurance (4 days – returned 1/31) 2) I filled up with gas ACROSS the STREET from the airport immediately before returning the car and FILLED the car until it stopped. The needle was WAY PAST FULL. Because I could not produce a receipt for the gas, they charged me $20.55

I spoke with Stan Jones, the manager. He would not hear anything I said, basically laughing at me and instructed me to look at the contract I signed. I immediately called corporate customer service. They said if I had signed the contract there was nothing they could do. I called Hotwire to complain immediately thereafter – they had handled the reservation. They VERY GRACIOUSLY gave me $150 Hot Dollars because of the inconvenience. I CAN DOCUMENT EVERYTHING.
