I prepaid for my Dollar rental through an agency, so I arrived in Dallas expecting to not need to pay any additional funds. The clerk asked me if I wanted an upgrade or extra insurance, which I declined, but then she asked me for my credit card. She mentioned they just needed to have it on file. Trusting my Dollar rep, I followed her instructions through the screens to sign for my rental and begin my vacation. When I received my statement, I noticed I had a second charge from Dollar directly. It was slightly less than what I paid at the agency, so I assumed I had been charged twice.

I sent a few emails to Dollar because I thought I had been double charged. There was no response until I threatened to dispute the charge. Dollar then told me that I had signed for Supplemental Liability Insurance and because I signed the contract that they would not issue a refund. Since I stated that I did not want any coverage to the counter agent, I disputed the charge with my card company, but they were unable to help either as I had signed the agreement including the insurance.
