Dont rent from THRIFTY.
I booked for a car, one-way pickup from London Heathrow and return at Stansted. I called to change the return destination for Getwick I was told over the phone that it was ‘no charge’ since I have already paid for a one-way pickup. Upon arrival to return the car at Getwick, the lady insisted that I had to pay for a change of venue. After a long haggle she agreed not to charge me.
The Thrifty guy then went to check the car and he said that “There is a nick on the front left wheel” When I was shocked with his comments, he said “You took up insurance right, so dont worry about it”. They charged me an additional 85GBP in my credit card. The car was insured through rentalcars.com
Although I would be able to claim back from rentalcars.com, I think that Thrifty is operating like a ‘thug-shop’. I will never rent from them again.
